Smart sterilization system ‘ASel’ acquired NEP certification.

SILVER Elevator Korea (CEO Eun-kyo Seo) announced on the 6th that its ASel has recently acquired the New Excellent Product (NEP) certification.
NEP, it is a system to certify newly developed technological products in Korea or product with an alternative technology, supervised by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Also NEP supports the initial market for new products and promote technology development.
According to SILVER Elevator Korea, ASel is a smart sterilization system for elevators. By irradiating Ultra Violet with a wavelength of 253.7nm, it kills viruses or bacteria floating in the elevator cabin or attached to walls. Also, the plasma ion cluster deodorizes and sterilizes the air in the elevator using the principle of adsorbing and decomposing odor molecules and microorganisms.
Prior to the ‘2020 NEP’ certification, ASel has already obtained a technology patent from the Korean Intellectual Property Office and it is considered as an innovative product with already recognized technology.
ASel applied Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Unlike existing elevator quarantine systems that mainly use chemicals, IoT-UV-based ASel can help lower the risk of secondary infection caused by chemical residues. It is designed to simultaneously perform quarantine and prevention of secondary infection sources by self-sterilizing during non-operating hours of elevators through remote management and automation systems.
The company presented that: following the NEP certification, inquiries from multiple facilities such as hospitals, government offices, and corporate offices are continuing, and ASel was installed in the elevators of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation and Hanmaeum Changwon Hospital in June. As SILVER Korea has obtained the qualification to supply public offices through the Public Procurement Service by acquiring the NEP certification. In the future it plans to actively promote the expansion of ASel supply to multiple facilities, including public institutions.
